When Reviewing for Us Lumina Quest Publishing:
- Reviewers will receive a personalized reviewer certificate.
- They will be acknowledged in the journal’s annual acknowledgment of reviewers.
- Reviewers will be considered for the journal’s Outstanding Reviewer Award.
- Us Lumina Quest Publishing may waive or reduce publication fees for authors willing to review papers by other scholars, potentially saving costs.
Invitation to Join the Volunteer Reviewer Database:
If you are interested in reviewing articles for Us Lumina Quest Publishing, please register your contact details, including your digital identifier, institutional affiliation, a brief CV, and 5-6 keywords reflecting your expertise.
The Managing Editor of the journal will notify you once your registration is approved.
Invitation to Review:
Manuscripts submitted to Us Lumina Quest Publishing are reviewed by at least two experts. Reviewers evaluate the quality of the manuscript and provide a recommendation to the external editor on whether it should be accepted, revised, or rejected.
We ask invited reviewers to:
- Accept or decline invitations promptly, based on the manuscript title and abstract.
- Suggest alternative reviewers if unable to accept the invitation.
- Request an extension if more time is needed to compose a report.
Reviewer Responsibilities:
As part of the assessment, reviewers will be asked to:
- Rate the originality, significance, quality of presentation, scientific soundness, interest to readers, overall merit, and English language of the manuscript.
- Provide an overall recommendation for the manuscript's publication.
- Provide a detailed, constructive review report.
Potential Conflicts of Interest:
Reviewers should inform the journal editor of any conflicts of interest that could prejudice the review process. The editorial office will check for potential conflicts before inviting reviewers, but we appreciate the cooperation of reviewers in this matter. If reviewing a manuscript previously reviewed for another journal, this is not considered a conflict unless the reviewer holds a bias, in which case, they should notify the editorial office.
Confidentiality and Anonymity:
Reviewers should keep the manuscript content, including the abstract, confidential. If a reviewer wishes to delegate the review to a student or colleague, they must inform the Editorial Office.
Us Lumina Quest Publishing operates single or double-blind peer review. Reviewers should ensure their identity is not revealed to authors through comments or metadata in submitted reports.
Note: Reviewers have access to all review reports for the manuscripts they review via the online submission system after the final decision.
Timely Review Reports:
We ask reviewers to submit their reports promptly to maintain an efficient publishing service. Please contact the editorial office if an extension is needed.
Peer-Review and Editorial Procedure:
All manuscripts submitted for publication are thoroughly peer-reviewed by independent experts. The Managing Editor performs an initial check of the manuscript, followed by organizing peer reviews and collecting at least two reports. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts before a final decision is made. The final decision is made by the academic editor.
Rating the Manuscript:
Please rate the following aspects of the manuscript:
- Originality/Novelty: Is the question original? Do the results provide an advance in knowledge?
- Significance: Are the results interpreted appropriately? Are they significant and supported by the data?
- Quality of Presentation: Is the article well-written and is the data presented appropriately?
- Scientific Soundness: Is the study technically sound? Are the methods detailed enough to replicate the research?
- Interest to Readers: Will the paper appeal to the journal’s readership?
- Overall Merit: Does the work provide an advance toward current knowledge? Does it address important questions?
- English Level: Is the English language clear and understandable?
Manuscript Ethics:
Us Lumina Quest Publishing maintains high ethical standards in publication:
- Manuscripts must not have been submitted or published elsewhere.
- Manuscripts must be original and properly cite all sources.
- Biological studies should adhere to accepted ethical research standards.
If you become aware of misconduct, plagiarism, or unethical practices in the manuscript, please report it immediately to the editorial office.
Overall Recommendation:
Please provide an overall recommendation:
- Accept in Present Form: The paper is accepted without changes.
- Accept after Minor Revisions: Accepted after minor revisions.
- Reconsider after Major Revisions: Acceptance depends on revisions. Authors have ten days for major revisions.
- Reject: The paper is not acceptable.
Note: Your recommendation will only be visible to journal editors, not to authors.
Review Report:
Your review should include:
- A brief summary of the paper’s aim and contributions.
- Broad comments on strengths and weaknesses, with specifics to help the author improve.
- Detailed comments on specific lines, tables, or figures.
Us Lumina Quest Publishing follows several ethical and reporting standards, such as those from ICMJE, CONSORT, TOP, PRISMA, and ARRIVE. Reviewers should report concerns related to these guidelines.
Please ensure your comments are constructive and do not include any indication of whether you think the article should be accepted for publication.
