Euthanasia is a medical act aimed at causing death to remove any pain. It consists in the intention of the will and in the procedures applied. It wants to remove the pain by intentionally interrupting a person's life, and appropriate means are used for that. Euthanasia, also called mercy killing by some, is a procedure by which a terminally ill person is knowingly and intentionally killed in a situation where his or her quality of life has fallen below human level due to severe pain or complete lack of consciousness.
